Peppa Pig’s Big Splash

Peppa Pig’s Big Splash

By now, you might be aware that little man loves Peppa Pig, I share this post: “Little Man’s Hero: Peppa Pig”. Recently, we have also hosted a Peppa Pig Party and little man had a great time with his friends.

Last year, we went to West End Theatre Christmas Season: Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt and the whole family enjoyed the live show. I was delighted to find out that there is a new show coming out this year.

Fresh from the huge successes of previous tours Peppa Pig’s Party and Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt comes Peppa’s brand new show, Peppa Pig’s Big Splash. Opening at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford on 24 October, this touring production will travel throughout the UK and into Ireland until summer 2014. The tour will also include a fourth consecutive Peppa West End Christmas season (details will be announced in due course) and it will be the biggest ever to date.

The nursery roof is leaking and Peppa and her friends need to fix it quickly. They set up a fete to raise the money for Mr Bull to do the repairs. There’s plenty of fun to be had as Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig, as well as Danny Dog, Pedro Pony and Suzy Sheep put up bunting, run stalls and organise a great day out.  There’s also a Champion Puddle Jumping competition judged by Mr Potato where everyone gets wet and Peppa needs to find her Golden Boots. Another all-singing, all-dancing adventure full of songs, games and muddy puddles is guaranteed for all the family.

Peppa Pig returns live on stage with puppets and brilliant sing-a-long songs from BAFTA award-winning composer Mani Svavarsson. Richard Lewis adapts and directs this brand new show, following his previous successes with the first two Peppa Pig stage shows and the the current Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom tour.

Peppa Pig’s Big Splash is produced by Fiery Angel and Limelight Productions (Fiery Light), the team also behind the recent tours of LazyTown Live!, Roald Dahl’s The BFG, the previous two Peppa Pig tours and the current tour of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom.

West End Theatre Christmas Season: Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt

Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt, Third West End Christmas Show, is currently showing in London at the Criterion Theatre until 6th January!

Peppa Pig Show in London

We had the pleasure to go and see Peppa Pig before Christmas and little man had a great time. He was really excited as soon as I told him back about Peppa Pig’s Christmas Show in November and he couldn’t wait to see his favourite characters Peppa and George live.

On the day, little man was really excited. He couldn’t stop talking about Peppa Pig and he was counting the hours to the afternoon show.

Peppa Pig’s second live stage production proved to be a huge success on its travels the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland in 2011 – 2012, with sell-out performances wherever it went.

This enduringly popular production for younger children opened at the Criterion Theatre on Thursday 6 December, giving Peppa Pig her third consecutive Christmas season at the West End venue, and runs to 6 January.

West End Christmas Special at Criterion Theatre

The Peppa Pig stage-show has a very successful track record at the Criterion Theatre, where for the past two Christmas seasons Peppa Pig has played to packed houses (2010 and 2011), breaking all the theatre’s previous advance box office records. Her first stage tour, Peppa Pig’s Party, was also one of the top-selling children’s theatre shows in 2010 and 2011.

In Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt Peppa Pig and her friends set off on a new adventure, a treasure hunt. Peppa, her brother George and friend Danny Dog get up to fun and games on a day out on Granddad Dog’s boat. There are clues aplenty as Pedro Pony, Polly Parrot and Zoe Zebra help them find their treasure as they all enjoy a day of adventure. Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt features true-to-life puppets, sing-along songs and a story that will charm and delight all her fans.

The director is Richard Lewis who has also adapted the show for stage. He has many acclaimed children’s stage shows to his credit, including Fimbles, the two LazyTown Live! tours (2007/08 and 2009) and the current tour of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, which premiered in October 2012.

Little man had a lovely time and he really enjoyed Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt. The show was very interactive and little man was joining in during the whole show. I must say that daddy and I were enjoying it too and had a great afternoon!

Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt is produced by Fiery Angel and Limelight Productions, the team behind the recent tours of LazyTown Live!, Roald Dahl’s The BFG, the first Peppa Pig tour, Peppa Pig’s Party and the current tour of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom.

I know how busy it gets in the run up to Christmas and between Christmas and New Year, probably you haven’t had much spare time lately. It is quite handy that the kids go back to school next week, so there is still a few days left of the school holiday.

If you haven’t had the chance to see Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt yet, make sure you get down to the Criterion Theatre before Sunday. It’s a lovely production and guaranteed fun to the whole family!

Check out Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt website for more information and to book your ticket!

Review: Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom Live Show

Last weekend we had the pleasure to go to Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom Live Show at Orchard Theatre in Dartford.

Little man went with his friend and they both had a lot of fun. They were very excited from the moment we sat down and we were waiting for the curtains to open.

Once Ben & Holly’s music started playing, both of them had a big smile on their face and they kept excited throughout the whole live show.

Usually I would post my own photos and videos of the show, as I did on my review of In the Night Garden Live, however there were signs at Orchard Theatre that photos and recording were prohibited.

From the makers of Peppa Pig and the producers of the two hugely successful Peppa Pig theatre tours comes this first ever stage version of the BAFTA award-winning TV animation, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom.

Currently a top favourite show for pre-schoolers, this charmingly magical animation airs on Nick Jr (since April 2009) and on 5’s Milkshake (since April 2010). Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdomis co-owned by animation studio Astley Baker Davies and has been a hit with audiences and critics alike. The series won a BAFTA award for Best Pre-School Animation in 2009 and a British Animation Award for Best Pre-School Series in 2012.

The Little Kingdom – where everyone is very, very small – is home to Princess Holly and her best friend Ben Elf. Holly is a young fairy princess who is still learning how to do magic properly and sometimes her spells don’t work out quite right. Ben is an Elf. Elves don’t do magic but they are very good at making things. Ben doesn’t have wings like Holly but he flies on the back of Gaston the Ladybird.

In this exciting new musical adventure, Ben and Holly have fun and games helping Gaston clean up his messy cave; they go on a trip to The Big World with tooth-fairy Nanny Plum; and still have time to plan a surprise for King Elf’s birthday party, complete with an unplanned jelly flood.

Packed full of games, songs and laughter, this is an enchanting and magical visit to the Little Kingdom, live on stage for the very first time. This beautiful story of elves, princesses and childhood innocence will delight all the family.

Indeed we were delighted, hubby and I loved the live show just as much as little man and his friend. We were all joining in replying to Ben and Holly’s questions and singing along. It was very interactive and a great afternoon, very enjoyable!

Before the curtains opened, I was wondering what Ben and Holly would look like. I had a fear they wouldn’t look like the characters on TV, however they were spot on. Great production and clever clothing made it feel like we travelled to the Little Kingdom for the duration of the live show.

Once we left Orchard Theatre, little man and his friend kept asking us to go back and see Ben & Holly again. I had to explain that they had to go back to the Little Kingdom, however we would be able to catch up with them on the TV or the next live show!

Overall, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom Live Show was an unforgettable experience for the whole family. The live show will be on tour on 44 different venues and you can find out more information on Ben & Holly Live website regarding future dates and venues.

Review: Go! Go! Go! Live Show at the Empire Leicester Square

This morning we went to Go! Go! Go! Show at the prestigious Empire Leicester Square. It is a perfect venue as it is small and intimate, so you will have a great view no matter where you seat. Each performance begins on show days at 11am. The show runs for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes including a short interval for snacks or toilet trips.

Go! Go! Go! Show was created by music industry leaders, Mike Stock from Stock Aitken Waterman and Steve Crosby. The Go! Go! Go! Show is an all-new family pop musical featuring five fantastic new stars of stage, screen and pop: Carl, Gemma, Jade, Holly and Steve. It is a live musical stage show in a cinema.

The show is fun-filled pop music entertainment for young children and their families. With high production values, this energetic live action show comprises an original storyline and is bursting with new hit songs such as Wake Up Smiling, This Is The Life and The Get Along Song.

With captivating rhythms and great lyrics that you would expect from the minds behind some of the UK’s biggest pop-stars, this family-friendly entertainment is ideal for younger children, but is just as suitable for older siblings, parents and grandparents to enjoy too.

As soon as we arrived, we were all wondering why there were socks on the seats. Unfortunately we couldn’t take any photos or videos during the show, so I took some pictures before and after the show and during the interval.

The storyline of The Go!Go!Go! Show follows five best friends who wake up one morning to discover their socks have gone missing. They soon realise that the culprit is a mischievous, furry creature called The Fluffalope who is eating their socks, as his diet consists of nothing else.

An adventure then begins during which they spend a day at Holiday Bay as the friends attempt to find The Fluffalope’s home. En route they encounter the permanently confused Mr. Baffled who helps them solve the mystery.

There are brand new pop songs, catchy, easy-to-learn dance moves, magic and loads and loads of laughs. With a visually stunning set and a cast full of boundless energy, the show encourages children to join in and sing-a-long, dance-a-long and laugh-a-long with their five new friends.

The story is a good old-fashioned caper! This sing-a-long, dance-a-long show is stacked full of fun. There is plenty of interaction with the audience, who are invited to complete a set of tasks in order to become members of the Gold Go!Go!Go!Getters! Club.

The Go!Go!Go! Show is now open in London’s Leicester Square following rave reviews on a UK tour in 2011 and a recent residency at Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire.

It was a lovely show, lively, engaging and a lot of fun for little ones and grown ups. The cast encouraged the audience to take part throughout the show by joining in with dance routines and throwing socks back at the stage. The cast were great, full of enthusiasm from the beginning to the end of the show, singing and dancing with a lot of energy and interacting with everyone in the audience.

Besides, there was a lovely surprise at the end of the show, the cast was available at the foyer to meet the audience, talk to them, take photos and sign autographs. It was a lovely touch to a great show, little man was a bit shy at first, but he loved taking photos.

Overall Go! Go! Go! was a lovely performance, thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended, make sure you Go! Go! Go!
