Weight Watchers Original Bagels

Weight Watchers Original Bagels

I have been trying a few Weight Watchers products lately.

I have tried their reduced sugar jams and chocolate muffins and Jaffa cake bars. I have also tasted Weight Watchers wraps and they were all lovely.

I have already mentioned that although Weight Watchers products have less calories, they are just as tasty as standard products.

Weight Watchers Original Bagels comes in a pack of 4.

They are steam baked for a deliciously authentic crust.

4 Bagels per Pack

They are also high in fibre as they contain added wheat fibre.

They are the standard size of a bagel, however they are low calorie and low in fat.

There are only 154 calories per bagel, which is the equivalent of 4 ProPoints value per bagel.

The bagels are perfect halved, toasted or warmed in an oven and topped with your favourite filling.

I really like smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel – I don’t have it all time, but it is one of my favourite sandwiches.

Actually, whenever I hear the word “bagel”, I immediately think of smoked salmon and cream cheese.

So when the bagels arrived, hubby went to the shops and got us some.

Bagels with Onion and Chive Soft Cheese

Bagels with Onion and Chive Soft Cheese

The bagel was very tasty with onion and chive soft cheese.

It was even more delicious once I topped it with smoked salmon. It makes a yummy lunch!

As the bagels were so lovely, I thought I should share them with others.

I had some friends coming round, so I decided to make mini bagels topped with smoked salmon and cream cheese.

My idea was to have a bite to eat while enjoying some wine and chatting. And it worked really well!

Everyone complimented how lovely the bagels were and nobody even noticed they were low in fat.

I came to the conclusion that I helped my friends to look after their weight and they don’t even know about it!

Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Bites

I bet if my friends knew they were having Weight Watchers bagels, they would have had a few more bites as they are low in calorie.

Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed Weight Watchers wraps and Weight Watchers Original Bagels.

They are just as lovely as you would expect them to be!

Weight Watchers Original Bagels at RRP £1.35.

They can be found at Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Ocado.

They have a long shelf life. Weight Watchers Bagels have a shelf life of 10 months.

Thinking about their shelf life, it basically means that, if I bought them now, I could nearly serve the smoked salmon and cream cheese bites as canapes for Christmas!

Weight Watchers Wraps

Weight Watchers Wraps

You might have noticed that I am enjoying trying different Weight Watchers products lately.

I have tried their reduced sugar jams and also their chocolate muffins and Jaffa cake bars.

So far, I have enjoyed them all and I couldn’t really tell them apart from a standard full fat/ sugar product.

If I was given the standard product and the equivalent Weight Watchers version in a blind test, I wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference.

Weight Watchers Wraps

Weight Watchers Wraps

Although Weight Watchers products have less calories, they are just as tasty!

Grilled Wrap

Grilled Wrap

Weight Watchers Wraps come in a pack of 6 Mexican style tortilla wraps made with wheat flour.

They have only 107 calories per wrap, which is the equivalent of 3 ProPoints value per wrap.

They are low in fat, hence the low calorie content.

However they taste just like any other standard wrap – you can’t even notice that they are low fat!

The wraps are high in fibre as they have added wheat fibre. It has all the flavour of white wraps with the fibre levels of wholemeal wraps.

The wraps taste really nice served hot or cold with your favourite fillings.

I personally prefer having my wraps warmed up in the grill machine, so they look like a Panini with less bread.

I don’t have a grill machine at home, but we have one in the kitchen at work.

Cold Wrap

Cold Wrap

I had a very tasty mixed roasted vegetables and chicken wrap and I really enjoyed my lunch.

We also tried the wrap cold, and it was just as nice. Hubby had a jerk chicken and sweetcorn wrap, it smelled great.

Unfortunately I can’t comment on the taste as it was gone by the time I had a second look!

However hubby mentioned that it was full of flavour and he enjoyed it – I could have guessed that by how quickly he ate it!

Weight Watchers Wrap retails at RRP £1.34. It can be found at Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Ocado.

While searching online, I have noticed they are half price at Tesco at the moment, so great to stock up as they have a long shelf life. Weight Watchers Wraps have a shelf life of 5 months.

Weight Watchers Jaffa Cake Bars

Weight Watchers Jaffa Cake Bars

I really like fruit, I manage to have my 5-a-day portion of fruit and veg most days, but sometimes just having a piece of fruit does not satisfy my sugar cravings – let’s be honest!

I noticed that if I do not have something sweet when I have a sugar craving, I end up having lots of things and I would still have the sweet treat in the end. So I am better off having the sweet treat straight away.

Low Calorie Snack: Jaffa Cake Bar

Low Calorie Snack: Jaffa Cake Bar

That’s when I reach for the cupboards for something sweet! I love sweet treats, but I love them even more when I know that they are healthy.

Weight Watchers has reduced sugar free jams, I tried them recently and really enjoyed. They also have a lovely selection of healthy snacks.

They taste lovely and they are great with a cup of tea. They have a nice texture and they are full of flavour, very tasty and low in calories.

Hubby also tried it and he really liked it. He went back to the gym this year and he is watching his weight.

Weight Watchers Double Chocolate Muffins

He is a bit more aware of the calorie content of food, so he was quite surprise that he could have cake for under 100 calories.

Double Chocolate Muffins

They are reduced fat muffins, they contain at least 30% less fat than standard double chocolate muffins.

They are very tasty and perfect when you are craving chocolate as they are quite rich.

Weight Watcher Muffin

You Can Have You Cake and Eat It

Overall, we really enjoyed Weight Watchers healthy snacks, it shows that you can have your cake and eat it.

The Jaffa Cake Bar was hubby’s favourite and the Double Chocolate Muffins were my favourite.

Wake Up for Breakfast with Weight Watchers Jam!

Weightwatchers Jams

Weightwatchers Jams

Good morning!

My question is: what did you have for breakfast this morning? I had toast with jam and it was lovely and sweet!

A survey* released by Weight Watchers® Jam reveals that women’s fear of carbs had contributed to a drop in Jam sales of 3% over the last 12 months (AC Nielsen September 2011).

Weightwatchers Raspberry Jam

Weightwatchers Raspberry Jam

48% of women polled in the survey admitted to having banned bread and cakes entirely from their homes in the past 12 months with 60% citing a lack of willpower as the reason -leaving little to spread their jam on!

This figure was at its highest in Essex with 73% of those polled admitting to having banned all carbs from their homes. However supermarkets are now seeing a change in shopper behaviours thanks to the resurgence of home baking spurred on by popular shows such as The Great British Bake Off and Master Chef.

One Serving of Raspberry Jam

Weight Watchers Jam is seeing a particular spike after the recent announcement that NHS has named Weight Watchers as the best weight management plan for those looking to slim.

Gerry Monkcom, Senior Brand Manager at Petty Wood, producers of Weight Watchers Jam comments: ‘the typical tea time occasion featuring jam was steadily in decline but the category is now seeing a steady growth thanks to shows like GBBO introducing new shoppers and people getting more on board with the notion that a little bit of something fancy, won’t harm you as part of a sensible eating plan’.

The research goes on to highlight that the generation game seems to affect women’s attitudes towards ‘good’ and ‘bad’ foods with over half (52%) of 18-24 year olds having banned bread entirely from their homes compared to a third (33%) of women aged 55 and over.

Weightwatchers Blackcurrant Jam

Weightwatchers Blackcurrant Jam

I believe that we can have everything in life – in moderation. I love sugar, I can’t deny! I was brought out having cakes and pastries for breakfast. So some nice jam in the morning with toast is one of my favourite breakfasts!

I was sent two different flavours of Weight Watchers jams to try: Raspberry and Blackcurrant.

Weight Watchers jams are prepared with reduced sugar, they contain 35% less sugar compared to standard jam. As they are low in sugar, they are healthier and better for you. Besides, they have no artificial sweeteners or preservatives.

One Serving of Blackcurrant Jam

One Serving of Blackcurrant Jam

Weight Watchers Raspberry Jam is prepared with 55 grams of fruit per 100 grams of finished product. Each serving of one heaped teaspoon has only 25 calories.

I was wondering whether one teaspoon would be enough for one slice of toast and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it is the right amount.

The raspberry jam is lovely and low calorie. It tastes very fruity and quite nice!

Blackcurrant Jam on Toast

Blackcurrant Jam on Toast

Weight Watchers Blackcurrant Jam is prepared with 40 grams of fruit per 100 grams of finished product. Each serving of one heaped teaspoon has only 24 calories. It is also very tasty and fruity!

The whole family enjoyed both jams, they are easily spreadable and have a nice texture with pieces of fruit in it. Weight Watchers jam are low sugar, so they are not overly sweet, which is a bonus.

We’ve been enjoying the jams at breakfast, the next step is to cook with them. They are healthier than usual jams, so perhaps I will be able to have an extra fairy cake?!

Weight Watchers jams are available at most supermarkets at RRP £1.89.

Review: Tasty Little Numbers Goodie Box “Real Food, Perfectly Portioned”

When I first heard about Tasty Little Numbers, I was intrigued to try and find out more information about their products as Tasty Little Numbers promotes “real food, perfectly portioned, take the messin’ outta guessin’!”

Of course I am a girl, and like any other girl out there, I want to look my best, but you are not going to see me eating diet foods or going on strict diets.

I received a Tasty Little Numbers goodie box and I couldn’t wait to try their products: 200 Calorie Snack Pots, 100 Calorie Savoury Snacks and 100 Calorie Chocolate Bars.

I was excited just by the idea of having a hot meal with a pack of crisps and a bar of chocolate for only 400 calories! You can actually have your cake (chocolate) and eat it, and save on the calories!

The 200 Calorie Snack Pots are all made using ingredients you would find in your kitchen then slow cooked to preserve their flavours.

The snack pots are microwavable, so you can just pop in the microwave for a couple of minutes and they are ready to be enjoyed. It comes with its own handy spork (mixture of a spoon and a fork) and a napkin.

The 200 Calorie Snack Pots come in four delicious flavours: Chicken Tikka Masala which comes with Basmati Rice; Creamy Mushroom Stroganoff which comes with Black Peppered Red Rice; Sausage & Baked Beans which has also Bacon and Tomatoes; and Chilli Con Carne, Minced Beef with Kidney Beans and Red Rice.

My favourite snack pot is the Chicken Tikka Masala. I must admit they are all very tasty and delicious, but I love a good old curry. The portion is smaller than you would have in a normal meal, but they don’t compromise on the flavour. You can have a hot meal for only 200 calories, which I think it’s great!

The 100 Calorie Savoury Snacks are all made in the same way as every other brand of crisps, it is all about portion control. Savoury Snacks come in four tasty flavours: Cheese & Onion Potato Crisps, Texy Mexy Smokey BBQ Grills, Crispy Bacon Rashers and Salt & Vinegar Crunchy Chip Sticks.

Whether you like to have a pack of crisps mid-morning, with your lunch or mid-afternoon, you can choose one of those without worrying about the calorie content.

My favourite savoury snack is the Texy Mexy BBQ Grills: Smokey BBQ flavoured corn chips which are so crunchy and tasty, perfect to be enjoyed any time of the day without feeling guilty. The BBQ flavour reminded me of Brazil!

I enjoyed my savoury snacks after my snack pots and I was pleasantly surprised that my hot meal and crisps only added up to 300 calories!

The 100 Calorie Chocolate Bars are made with real chocolate and sugar, no artificial sweeteners or other nasty stuff is used to sweeten the bars up.

You can have a choice of tasty little crispy crunchy wafer dipped in milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate. Little Tasty Number’s Chocolate Bars are a real treat, full flavour and perfectly portioned, great for when you need a chocolate fix or something sweet with your cup of tea!

Overall, I love reviewing Tasty Little Numbers! Not only their range of products is full of flavour and tasty, they are also just as it says in the pack “Real Food, Perfectly Portioned”.

You can enjoy the food you like without worrying about the calorie content, making eating more enjoyable and pleasant. You can have a 3-course Tasty Little Numbers meal of hot food, crisps and chocolate for only 400 calories.

By now, I am sure you are wondering where to get Tasty Little Numbers from: it is available at selected Sainsbury’s Stores and online at Amazon: unit price for Snack Pots £2.99, Savoury Snack £0.55 and Chocolate Bar £0.55, which is very reasonable taking into account the quality of the products.

Tasty Little Numbers is perfect for a busy person like myself that love real food. It is also ideal for all of us that want to enjoy a healthy lifestyle but think that life is far too short to eat diet food or count calories.
