I love the smell of clean house and freshly washed clothes. While cleaning might not be my dream job, I love the results afterwards. We don’t own a dishwasher or tumble drier, so all our dishes are washed by hand and our clothes are put to dry at the clothes line (unless it is raining, of course).
I was sent a great selection of cleaning products from EcoForce and Dishmatic to review and I have been testing them for the past couple of weeks.
EcoForce is a range of practical and effective household products made from recycled materials, that are greener, more eco-friendly and more sustainable than any other alternatives on the market and good value.
The range includes recycled sponges, scourers, cloths and dusters for all green cleaning requirements, recycled pegs, pegbasket and clothes line for eco-friendly laundry drying and recycled food bag grips for storing left overs.
EcoForce’s award winning products do not compromise on quality or price and offer an ethical choice when it comes to buying household goods. All products are made from at least 90% recycled waste here in the UK.
EcoForce Recycled Scourers are eco-friendly made with recycled fibres. I was sent Recycled Heavy Duty Kitchen Scourer’s pads, Recycled Non Scratch Kitchen Scourer Pads.
EcoForce Recycled Sponge Scourers: super absorbent, wipes away spills, drips and stains.
EcoForce Recycled Cloths: super absorbent quilted multi-purpose cloths that are super soft and made with high quality recycled materials, can be used wet or dry.
EcoForce Recycled Dusters: super soft dusters for polishing and dusting glass, mirrors, furniture, car interiors, wood and even shoes. It can be used wet or dry with your favourite polish.
EcoForce Recycled Peg Basket: made from 93% recycled plastic, can hold up to 72 pegs.
EcoForce Recycled Clothes Pegs: made from at least 93% recycled plastic, they are strong and durable. It has no metal parts to rush, no wood to stain clothes, grips clothes even in the windiest of weather.
EcoForce Recycled Bag Grips: frost proof, no rust or stains, easy to store, easy to use attach and detach.
There’s also Dishmatic, a clever little device that comprises a hollow handle and sponge scourer head. Simply fill the handle with washing up liquid and it dispenses as you clean.
Dishmatic is made from recycled components and helps reduce dishwasher usage. At only £1.33 Dishmatic is good value and lasts for years. When the head is worn down simply replace with a new one.
It was my first time using Dishmatic, but I think it’s a great product. I haven’t timed how long it takes me to wash the dishes now, but I’m pretty sure it takes me less time as I don’t need to stop to put washing liquid in the sponge.
Hubby is also impressed with Dishmatic, he’s been quite keen to do the washing up lately!
Overall, we really like EcoForce and Dishmatic products. Not only they are eco-friendly, they also make cleaning more enjoyable!
EcoForce and Dishmatic are widely available in most supermarkets as well as Oxfam, Homebase, B & Q and on line.
Great News, EcoForce and Dishmatic are giving away a year’s supply of cleaning goodies worth £50 to one of my readers.
The prize will comprise several of each of the products in the EcoForce and Dishmatic ranges, ie. Dishmatic, Dishmatic refills, Dishmatic Steel Scourer plus refills, EcoForce Peg Basket, EcoForce Clothes Line, EcoForce pegs, EcoForce, EcoForce sponges, scourers, cloths and dusters.

Best cleaning tip I have is I’ve learnt if you hang out items with stains on outside in icy weather, the stains fade. So if its cold I just rinse and spin things with marks on. (2 kids and pets, things get spilt often, especially by Jen)

Squeeze lemon juice into a microwaveable dish or container and mix with roughly 300ml of water.Put it inside the microwave and turn it on for about 7 minutes. Then remove the bowl and easily wipe any built up stains as the steam and lemon juice allow it to smell fresh and allow stains to come off easily.

Bicarbonate of soda is fab… it is great for getting rid of nasty niffs…my little boy is a typical 3 yr old boy..he has a potty in his bedroom at night and occasionally has the odd accident ..bicarb is brilliant for getting rid of the niffs..sprinkle it over the carpet ..leave it over night and hoover up and it works a treat.. I also use it as a teeth destainer..having recently been drinking far too much coffee I noticed my teeth were showing signs of staining….I mixed up a paste of bicarb with water and brushed it onto my teeth… it doesn’t taste too great but wow … it certainly did the job..nice clean shiny unstained teeth!

When Cleaning I mix fabric conditioner and water in an empty spray bottles then use it to spray over my soft furnishings, lightbulbs and radiators. It makes the house smell great and saves you buying expensive fabric refreshers.

Dec 09, 2012 @ 21:15:05
I use lemon juice, bicarb of soda and vinegar to clean the slime and limescale of the shower screen as we are also on a septic tank and I don’t like using chemicals for cleaning products as they go straight into our tank. The homemade version works and has a lovely smell if you use the lemon juice.
Dec 09, 2012 @ 21:38:54
Subscribed by email and my best tip is lemon juice heated in the microwave then steam cleans it so you can just wipe off the grime rather than scrubbing!

My cleaning tip is to use subtle lighting, then you don’t notice the dust and a few nice candles burning helps too lol I tend to tidy up as I go along amazing how much easier it is to keep house looking clean by simply putting things away at the time, then I do a major blitz every once in a while or when my house proud sis is calling over lol

My best cleaning tip is to use a dishmatic brush when you are washing dishes as it elimates the need to add washing up liquid to the water and seems to clean faster and easier as the liquid is dispensed through the brush as you need it. I love mine and would never wash dishes without it again!! – Every home should have one!!!

Clean the hob and the oven regulary, it only takes a few minutes to wipe down the hob once its finished for the day, and giving the oven a quick clean each week saves the hassle of spending hours cleaning it later down the line.
